Vince McMahon has two big names in mind for special referee role at WWE Survivor Series

WWE wants a legend to appear at Survivor Series.

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Green Bay, WI at the Resch Center on the USA Network, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar officially accepted WWE Champion Jinder Mahal's challenge for a "Champion vs. Champion" match at Survivor Series.

Dave Meltzer revealed more details about the upcoming match in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. WWE is planning on adding a special guest referee to the match. John Cena's name was mentioned as a possibility.

Vince McMahon is also considering The Rock and WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin for the role. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on talks with Rock or Austin. Keep in mind that if they wanted The Rock for the role then there could be an issue with his schedule and if it would allow him to make an appearance.

It's unlikely that a Lesnar vs. Rock or Lesnar vs. Austin match would come out of the special referee gig at Survivor Series.

The Survivor Series pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, November 19, 2017 in Houston, Texas at the Toyota Center and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. Both Raw and SmackDown brands will be featured.

As of this writing, it’s unknown which match will serve as the main event of this show. You could have Lesnar vs. Mahal or the ale 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match.

There’s not a ton of great interest from fans regarding Lesnar vs. Mahal so that could play a factor into the match order of this lineup. Here is the updated card:

--- Non-Title Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal

--- Non-Title Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya

--- Non-Title Match: Baron Corbin vs. The Miz

--- Non-Title Tag Team Match: Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs. The Usos

--- Male 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match: TBA vs. Randy Orton (Team Captain) and TBA

--- Female 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match: Alicia Fox (Team Captain), Sasha Banks, Bayley, TBA, TBA vs. Becky Lynch (Team Captain), Carmella, Tamina Snuka, Naomi, Charlotte Flair
