I got another 1 oz silver bar for my collection. This is a Western Mint piece.

Western Mint was a subdivision of Johnson Matthey that produced art bars for a short time. These are pretty rare with mintages in the low thousands, what's better is they're Canadian 🍁

This new to me bar was produced in 1976 and has a mintage of 3,000 pieces. It's was made for Hudson's Bay to commemorate the Montreal Olympics

It has a blank back..

I'm now the proud owner of 3 Western bars 😎

This is a 1974 piece with a total mintage of only 1,000

These Western Mint bars are classic, rare and wonderful. It is very cool that they are serialized and that the mintage is so low. Thanks for sharing.

It will be valuable when the economic is in uncertain!

Very nice collection.

How much extra premium above spot price do the low mintage bars go for?

I paid double spot price for this sucker but for me it's worth it to add cool Canadian vintage bars to the stack. I'm preserving my countries silver history lol

Expensive... but nice... and a good investment.
👍

Yeah I'll no doubt get my money back and more one day selling to another collector but really this is just for my personal enjoyment now

I love looking at the 1 ouncers in the Apmex box... ya know... that is one thing that you and I have exactly in common... we keep our 1 oz bars in an Apmex box, And I am looking at my empty ones and saying to myself, "OMG... I have a long way to go... I'd be so old and gray before I could fill those!". They do look more elegant in bar capsules... mine are in plastic sleeves. Thank you for the very inspiring photographs. A great one for this Saturday morning!

One by one the boxes slowly fill haha. This is just a super fun collection, I enjoy hunting them down and looking at all the different varieties. Thx for checking out my post Saver!

Oh man those are some sexy bars! Hard to believe they have lasted all this time and never got melted.
