The man was approached on LINE around June by someone claiming to be a woman he met on an app, offering to invest if he would send bitcoins (a virtual currency) to the designated recipient 18 times between July 8 and September 12, for a total of 120.46 million yen worth of virtual currency. The person who sent the bitcoin to the designated destination 18 times between July 8 and September 12 must have had money in the hundreds of millions because he is a local government employee.
