I'm beginning to see some really innovative work done in both fields but this is the first time I've seen both working well together.
Imagine if there were several of these portals that you could "peak" into before actually exploring. It could be used for social media (with each friend in a different portal), internet exploration (each portal is a different website) or even live entertainment/news/ sports.

Interesting. I've always been more of an AR fan because I see it more practical for the near future. But this makes me consider other practical uses for VR and AR, like what you mentioned for social media. Pretty cool.

I like AR more as well, though it feels like AR is preparing us for VR. Maybe both will exist as layers. Right now you cant see through the Oculus Rift Headset, but I think eventually it will be a transparent lens.
