The vision of God: Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God. Acts 7:55

The Book of Acts of the Apostles explains how the apostle Stephen full of the spirit had a vision of God before dying martyred for bearing witness to Jesus. The vision of God is one of the most mysterious spiritual gifts in the Christian faith, and is in essence a form of the gift of eternal life, or in other words, a form of the knowledge of God, together with the contemplative life, as Jesus taught with wisdom to his disciples: "This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God", John 17:3.
Fundamentally according to the Christian faith, the vision of God is a perfection of the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion) in the human heart, and it is only received by those who live in the grace of God without any sin.
The Book of Acts set the life and death of Stephen as an example for all Christians, a saint who did not lose the faith in Jesus or the fear of God even in the most difficult moments. Stephen died because he showed that he feared God and not men, something that the enemies of Stephen deeply hated.
This is how the Book of Acts tells us the vision of Stephen and his last words addressed to his teacher Jesus:
"But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. ´Look,´ he said, ´I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.´
At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul.
While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, ´Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.´ Then he fell on his knees and cried out, ´Lord, do not hold this sin against them.´ When he had said this, he fell asleep." Acts 7:55-60.
