Create a Vision for Your Perfect Life
Do you have a vision of your perfect life? Have you ever thought about what it would be like if everything in your life was just right? If you can’t answer that question, I want to suggest that you start thinking about it seriously, because it will go far in helping you to achieve the level of success that you are striving for. By creating a vision of your perfect life, you can begin putting concrete parameters around what you want to create in your future so that it becomes much more real than just some hazy goal in the distance.
What is your vision?
Before you can create your perfect life, you need to know what it looks like. What will your relationships be like? How much money will you make? What activities are you going to do every day? The answers to these questions depend on what you value and where your passions lie. What do you enjoy doing most in life? If we look at our life from a broader perspective, there’s no limit to where we can go and what we can do.
Why have you created it?
The first thing you need to know is why you have created your vision. Creating a vision without knowing your reasons behind it makes it seem like an afterthought or just something tacked on to make things complete. Without reason, motivation and inspiration to keep going, it will be difficult to carry through with your plan. What is that reason? It may be so simple as wanting more time with family, or more time playing golf every day until dark - whatever that reason is, make sure you write it down first!
How will you know when you have reached it?
There are two ways to approach your vision. First, you can take an optimistic view and believe that you’ll have achieved your goals when you achieve certain milestones along your path. For example, if your dream is to go to college, then completing high school would be a major milestone and achieving it would mean you are well on your way toward pursuing higher education. If another of your dreams is to retire at age 65, then reaching age 60 would be another good benchmark.
What do you need to do to achieve it?
How can you create a vision of your perfect life? It’s easier than you think. You just need to write down all of your long-term goals, including financial independence and retirement security, as well as any smaller goals, such as traveling more or having more time with family. After that, prioritize them so you know which ones are most important to focus on first.
