3D Printing Custom Prosthetic Hand

in visualization •  7 years ago

Hello everyone! I am Espen, a 3d artist from Norway. Happy to join this awesome community! :D

Very honored to join @metrox in his cause to help provide local people with prosthetic limbs. This young man had an accident with a coconut shredder :S Hopefully we can bring improved functionality to his hand. Hand was photographed and photogrammetry was used to make a 3d model. Next step is 3d modelling to custom fit the prosthesis and 3d printing it in the lab! Here are some initial visualizations.:) <3

We need a 3D Scanner to get accurate data of the hands as the photogrammetry isnt really good enough, with this one I will probably model it manually and use the photogrammetry as reference. :)

Great post. Great use of tech. Great cause!

Its a great time to be alive! And this tech is still in its infancy, so much more to come. Have to give @metrox all the cred for initiating such a great endeavor, I am very happy to join the effort! :)

Photogrammetry is a great tool. Nice use of the technology
