Visualizing the Piano keyboard

in visualization •  6 years ago

Using visualizing techniques while in a relaxed mediative state, i think of the whole of the 88 keys of the keyboard starting from the lowest C note, grouped in Octaves of 12 up the keyboard. Thinking what the name of the note is and what the notation would look like in my minds eye. Then playing them, imagining the sound of the scale . The Piano has the whole of the spectrum of sounds. The guitar has it's whole range in the treble clef to the right of middle C and the bass guitar has it's whole range in the bass clef on the left of the middle C. Using the minds eye to look at each Octave starting from the C note, Thinking where the guitar starts from the lowest E note to the highest E note, if you have a 24 fret guitar, with a 22 fret guitar you go to highest D note. Doing the same with the bass clef, visualizing where the bass guitar starts on the low E note of the fret board and all the way up to the highest E note on the 24 fret. So in my minds eye i can isolate the part of the keyboard and imagine striking the string of either the guitar or the bass.and have it light upon the keyboard. the beauty of the minds eye is that you can add colours to it or design it anyway you want. But by thinking about the relationship of the Keyboard notes and the fret board notes we visualize all 3 instruments as one spectrum of sound. Using Mindfulness techniques and using your breathing to focus your mind and stop the chatter. Using visualizing techniques is something you can do at anytime, so the more exercise you give to it the sharper it gets. When you play a note on the guitar, imagine that note lighting up on the keyboard or playing the note on that Piano and it is being plucked on a guitar or bass. It's all in the minds eye.
