With cleanup stalled for weeks, group of volunteers tackles New Orleans nurdle spill on their own

Fynaardt knows the plastic they’ve collected is only a tiny fraction of the mess. But each nurdle she drops in her bucket is potentially one less nurdle causing trouble in the belly of a fish, turtle or bird.

Interesting article about the efforts by local residents to clean up a plastic pellet spill in South Louisiana. Good to see locals trying to do what the government has already said they can't do. It's a small step but it's better than the governments effort. And if people care this much about the environment maybe they will care enough about the big things to force the politician to act in support of nature. Like with fresh water diversions that could help rebuild the wetlands.
