I always have some Vitamin C with me.
Whenever I stat feeling under the weather I take extra and I rarely get sick.
When you chose your Vitamin C be sure to get one with a natural source and not only ascorbic acid as it's only one of 12 compounds that make up Vitamin C complex.
A very good source is rose hips powder. I use it in my morning smoothie.
Camu camu contain even more Vitamin C but it's abit to expensive for me.
It's almost impossible to take to much of Vitamin C. The only thing that can happen is that you will get an upset stomach and then you have to go to the bathroom if you know what I mean ☺

The thing with Vit C is that a dose of 2-6 grams a day is a basic maintenance dose - for a cold 10-12 grams will turn it around in less than a day, but for more serious diseases it needs to be 20+ grams a day - up to 3 grams every 2 hours is fine so long as its in the liposomal form - if it was a cheap powder that would get very nasty!

Yeah zinc is great for colds. I'm taking it daily from my ReMyte mineral solution but have never tried taking extra when feeling sick. I'll try that next time 😀👍

Have read the body can only process 500 mgs at a time so taking higher potency is throwing money away. Tnx for passing the info, one of my must have daily supps.

I've seen different numbers depending on what source. The truth and what I believe in is that your body need more under stress and when feeling sick.
Also it depends on what kind of Vitamin C you take. If you take a syntetic ascorbic acid you probobly need alot more to push it into your cells.

I try to take 500 mgs every 3 hrs and rarely get sick, Acerola is another very good natural source, 500 mgs providing 125 mgs of C.

I personally like liposomal vitamin C. I find it to be a better form of vitamin C with greater benefits. I agree with you in regards to always having it on hand. Vitamin C is definitely in the Top 5 supplements on my list...

Yes, it can be time-consuming. There are several good brands out there that I have tried and used. It tends to be a bit pricey versus the other forms of Vit C but I think its worth it.
