I need to borrow your brains. Calling out to the community!

As you may have noticed nothing has been happening around my blog during the summer months. And the same goes for Ida's and my vlog, "Simon & Ida" that I always share here also. Autumn is knocking on the door and that usually means - I can start living my "normal" life again. Some people go on vacation during the summer but I'm the guy on the other end, the guy that looks after all half-braindead holiday spenders (good business, but pretty intense) :D . Autumn also means blowing new energy into all my other projects and this is what's happening right now!

This is where I call out to you, my trusted online community friends. This is where I ask for your opinions. I'm asking for your help because I trust you and I'd love to discuss this topic further. Let's brainstorm!

Some of you might have seen the episodes of Simon & Ida that I have been sharing on my channel. I'm gonna throw links to a few episodes under the text. It's a vlog where you get to look into our lives on the island and in the archipelago. Up to this moment we have been doing the vlog in Swedish (our mother tongue). It's the easy way and we have gotten some followers from Finland and even Sweden. It's working just fine but if you want to build a bigger community around the channel you need a bigger audience than Swedish speaking Finland (5 % of the Finnish population)... THIS is why we have decided to open up our world to THE REST OF THE WORLD!
Therefore we are changing the language on our vlog to English! And here come de discussion topic:

What should we call the channel?
We have already decided "Simon & Ida" is too lame so we are looking for a name that might describe the theme somehow. I would love to make that same name into a brand we could work with and continue using in different ways in the future.
One word that came to our mind was "North" or "Nordic"... the future plan is to possibly expand our territory to all of the European Nordic countries...

Nordictionary - A guide/explanation to all things Nordic. I think it's broad enough to allow you to cover all subject matter.

You could use a dictionary font and put it in onscreen with your own explanations for things like cultural habits, food, destinations and more

@chekohler @islanderman - I like the idea of playing of the word Nordic. as in your idea of "Nordictionary" I also like the sound of Noricpidia.

@chekohler @meditations I like both Nordictionary and Noricpidia, I'm a little afraid these would put too much pressure on the "facts" part of the channel..? We are still going to be 2 semi-silly people doing our everyday things :D

Hmm, Archipelago Vikings is the only one off the top of my head right now. I'll think of some more in the meantime. :D

Nice to see it evolving into english! I remember I wanted to recommend in the past to add English subtitles to the episodes but forgot somehow to mention. Good idea to build a brand too! Good luck!

That would be pretty cool! Archipelago Vikings :D We had the word "archipelago" in mind one point but there is a risk it's not common word for people around the world? An archipelago in it self is pretty special ofcourse but is it known enough to get peoples attention?

It's nice hearing that you have thought about it..it's a big step for us so I really hope it's gonna be worth it!

I'm very happy to hear about your plans. I'll be happy to watch your vlog in English as I don't speak your language. You're the most genuine and interesting vlogger here.
As about the title, I have to think about that. Nothing comes into my mind right now but I promise I'll get back to you tonight or tomorrow. 😊

Ok, I've read the comments and the recommendations so far which are not many.
I've seen acidyo recommending archipelago, which is a very cool sounding word but I'm afraid not many would remember it.

I was thinking of Nordic Duo maybe, as you're two, that's easy to remember. The other would be Viking Duo. Or Nordicland. I don't know, just a few thoughts.

Either way you let me know if you decide about the name and feel free to tag me when the first vlog is out as I don't want to miss it. 😊

Thanks :D It's not a bad idea to play with our names! The only thing that's being put aside in case we choose a name like Idasim is the explanation about the theme of the channel, but then again it might not be that important!
