I started exactly 5years ago in a small city here in Osun State, Nigeria. Where I was admitted to study Law at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Everybody in my family wanted me to be a lawyer, especially my late father. He happened that, he was a judicial worker in his active service year. Left to me, I could probably be doing Theatre Art by now because I really love media and everything that it encompass.
A journey of a thousand steps, they say its begins with a step...
Immediately, after I left secondary school, sequel to the fact that have completed the criteria required by the examination in council. I had seated for the Joint Admission & Matriculation Board (J.A.M.B) examination that year and I passed despite the fact that, that was my first time taking the examination. I scored above 200 which is the cut off mark for admission. But each school has a screening exercise they conduct before granting admission to candidate.
Obafemi Awolowo University was my first and second choice, maybe not because there were no other options. Just that considering the proximity and fees, my parents had to tell me to pick OAU over others. Although, I would have preferred Ekiti State University. Why? I saw their buildings and I love it.
I sat for the screening test on a Saturday morning at OAU Centre for Distance Learning, Moro. I could vividly remember that my brother followed me to the exam hall that day. During the cause of the examination, I met a lady who had the same passion as mine (to study Law). At this point you may be surprised, Law is part of what I live for...
Corollary, the lady is now a graduate of Foreign Languages, German to be precised.
After the examination, had boosted to my brother about my awaited score in the papers.
But it was unfortunate, I didn't make all that magic work. I became a laughing stock at home. I wanted to take change of form to seek admission in other universities but my brother told me to try again next year.
So, 365days counted and here is another screening exercise. Although, I had narrowly passed JAMB again. This time I stressed my brain in order to secure a perfect score in the exam. I had an awesome score in the exam and I was given an admission to study Law.
Here is my story, I hope you watch till the end.
Thank you!
