To keep it short and simple this is a rant... 100% ....However I do include a positive and motivating message for those who struggle with vlogging, encounter issues, or those who haven't even started yet.

The rant is life and vlogs are supposed to be about your interpretation of life. No one wants to see people winning all the time if they dont show how they grind to work through moments that feel like deficits.

Your admission to reaching your creative plateau gives us a way to connect with you and also allows you to be congruent which is waaaay better then pretending or hiding behind a smile just for the camera. Good sht 💪🏾@paolajane.

Pretty easy for all those sitting on the couch not hitting upload to say how easy it is, hahaha. Yes it is hard, and expensive, and down right frustrating! And then you have that one video that comes together and you are so proud. You think, "Hell Yeah!" because it is so freaking good. It makes it all worth the effort. Keep your chin up because you've got that hustle and that hustle pays off.

Sometimes we have video fails! I definitely appreciate your honesty! You're doing more than many people are doing! We'll all have failures.

I won't even claim my videos are that great but it's better than what many people even try to do. Heck, many people won't try. But many of those people who won't try will often times trash those who do. That's a different subject entirely.

Keep going. Mamma didn't tell me there'd be days like this because vlogging didn't exist yet, but I can tell you sometimes audio or video doesn't come out the way you'd hope.

And yes, vlogging or doing anything with content creation isn't easy. Yet it is rewarding if you do it well and learn from mistakes.

Thank you so much for your support! And you’re so right. A lot of people wouldn’t even get past the fear of being on camera so would never try to overcome their fears.

loll I can relate.. a few years ago I made some YouTube videos (more for fun than anything) and was amazed how difficult and tedious it is. Like you have this romantic vision of talking to the camera, wind blowing through your hair everyone loves what you're saying, but really it's a lottttt of tedious steps.

like anything, the better you get at something, it becomes a game of smaller edges where it takes longer and more effort for tinier improvements

I loved your real talk, so way to turn the negative into something good!!

Haha welcome to the club @paolajane. I make animation and I do a lot of video editing too, so I can definitely sympathize with you when it comes to technical difficulties, but it feels so good when you get over those obstacles. Hey Paola, I'm sorry your video didn't turn out. I know it can be devastating when you put a lot of work into something and then have it just crash and burn. And I appreciate your use of humor to get past frustrating moments like this, I do that to! I don't know the specifics of your video that didn't work out, but in that scenario with a short film or something you can do whats called "ADR" or Automated Dialog Replacement. Basically you sit somewhere with a more ideal environment for audio, listen to the original take with the bad audio and then record your voice saying things the same way at the same pace. Then you just replace the audio. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. It doesn't have to be perfect, (maybe you can even get a joke out of the whole situation with the voice over) This video sounds like it was really important to you so this is one option for saving it. Let me know if you need any help doing it or have any questions about it. I'm happy to help. Keep chasing that dream, I know it seems sometimes that we've stopped progressing, but if you're trying you're always learning and your always getting better.

You are too hard on yourself. Make it fun. There are several times I recorded a recipe and went to download and I didn't have the record button on. I had to suck it up and remake the dish. Often times the second round goes better than the first. I do understand your frustration. Hope your day gets better.

At around 2 minutes you say that a lot of people say that vlogging is easy and you make a lot of money off of it, and it's definitely true that they say that, but the reality is 99% of vloggers don't make any money, in fact they fail miserably and they are so ashamed that they give up. I've seen it happen so many times now so don't get discouraged when the audio is messed up or something else goes wrong sometimes, as long as you get this incredible amount of support from DTube, Kpine and the others you will be more than fine :)

Hey!! Im using a Canon EOS M6 with a 22mm prime lens! I love it :) but the prime lens is really shaky especially while walking so its a little difficult

I can understand you. Of course you can start with small steps like vlogging with your smartphone camera but I wasn’t satisfied with the quality after some videos. And just like you say you want to level up from video to video. But I think what’s still most important is the message itself.
I remember a video I made some weeks ago. I was absolutely not satisfied with the quality but I uploaded it for the purpose of sharing the message :)

This video was probably better than your original idea anyway!

So true with expensive things for good quality vlogs. Most days I don't vlog outside because my mic isn't good enough and the limiter on it disrupts my voice. Awaiting a micro muff but even that will take a few weeks to get to Kangarooland.
