In my country, the climate is not suitable for growing strawberry. This kind of fruit is really rare and absolutely quite expensive if you want to eat good one, not the one is sold on the street which comes from China. ;)

In my childhood, if someone had strawberry, it was really big deal. lol. Strawberry was a proof of wealth. Only the rich can buy it since most of strawberry needs to be imported. Even now, that situation is still same same. I think I just have eatten strawberry about 4 times for whole my life. I dont like it, I have never spend money to buy it since It is quite expensive but not good, small and sour.

Fresh, big and bright red. 1000soles ($1.7) for 1kg of strawberry

While I was visiting a local market in Santiago, Chile. I saw they were selling a lot strawberry. Now is fruitting season for strawberry here, as my friend said. So I just buy since I saw it was good looking and quite cheap. I just bought for the purpuse of taking photo. I didnโ€™t expect since I prejudiced that it would be same with strawberry I had tried in Vietnam.

But turn out not. Smooth and sweet. It was totally different with a kind of strawberry I had in Vietnam. Suddenly become strawberry lover after just the first bite. I finished 1 kilogam of strawberry and skipped dinner. lol.

If strawberry is proof of wealth, then what about cherries? And what about white cherries, did you see one of them before?

ย  ยท ย 7 years agoย

I should have said that โ€œone of proofs of wealthโ€. Lol. Cherries too. Haha. I have never tried cherries. ๐Ÿ˜”

Cherries are so common in Turkey.

Turkey has the largest plantation area for cherries, followed by the United States and Italy in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

And white cherries are really rare, 90% of white cherries come from my hometown. That's why I asked :)

Ohhhh man. That was something I missed while in Vietnam, strawberries. But...you have passion fruit, dragon fruit, those small pineapples, longans, mango, so many good fruits there. But...no strawberries! :( Happy you enjoyed them. Fresh strawberries are the best! Also, fresh oranges(and most fruit I guess :P )
