Scared to Death?
My Vietnamese friends, Anna, and her family, are being threatened by their neighbors, these men (brothers), in Saigon, allegedly at least as seen in some videos. I've known them since 2013 and have seen their neighbors. It seems the neighbors are buddies with local police or something. Anna asked me to share this story, this situation, to everybody in the world. These men are not related to Anna.

These neighbors, for many years, have been drinking beer, for many hours before noon and also in the evening, outside of their houses, across the street from Anna. For more information, you can contact Anna on Facebook.
The neighbors are loud, drunk, and they seem to be friends, buddies, with local police in the area. They were probably throwing rocks at Anna's dog. Like some people, these neighbors are bullies, they're mean, and they've possibly been involved in crimes, maybe even murder cases; or they probably know people that do.

See The Videos
In the videos, I see Anna, her family, her mom, yelling, talking, and those neighbors are yelling back at them. The Vietnamese cops arrive and talk to both parties, both sides. You can see police in the videos as well. There seems to be some back and forth going on. I've been there a few times to Anna's house and have seen these neighbors and I remember what kind of people they seem to be based on what I've seen between 2013-2016. I was living in Vietnam from 2012-2017 and have seen many things and have met hundreds of people in Vietnam. I'm not an expert but I've seen all kinds of things.
Raising Awareness
A situation like this may not necessarily be unique and yet this is still something worth talking about. I'm writing this post, this article here, to raise awareness of these type of situations and to tell you that you are not alone if you have ever been harassed, bullied, abused, threatened, attacked, or whatever.
Education First
When we talk about these things, then we in fact educate ourselves, each other, we become stronger that way, when we know these things, when we see more application, perspective, of life, of these situations, of the good and the bad, we unite, we come together, and we are given opportunities to support and care for each other in better ways if we so choose to do so. I'm not necessarily telling you that you have to get involved, that you can make a difference, that you can stop everything, that you can save everybody, but that does not mean you can't at least try in each moment to maybe share this or to share other things, to talk about things that you truly care about.
Family First
Specifically, I'm not exactly sure what can be done in situations like this one, I'm still thinking about all of this, but that does not mean I cannot do something at least. That is why I am writing this and sharing this. I want you to know that these things do matter to me. I want people to be held accountable for their actions, whether those actions be good or bad. I favor transparency, confrontation, accountability, integrity, relationships, within local neighborhoods, communities, and especially families.
Specifics
This post serves as a quick summary of what Anna was telling me on Facebook. This article may not have all of the details, all of the answers, of everything, but I am trying my best to emphasize on how there can be hope when we come together as humans. We can talk about problems and we can find solutions. We can have each other's back.
They attacked Anna's mom in the past.
Anna's mom was born around the 1950's in Vietnam.
They attack even when they're not drunk.
Lawyers live next door to Anna.
But the lawyers work for the communistic Vietnamese government.
It seems the lawyers sent people to Anna's house on a mission to buy the house (apartment) for a too cheap of a price.
Anna lives near this small restaurant: 433 Nguyen Kiem.

Who is Anna?
If you don't know my Vietnamese friend, Anna, you can see that she is a young musician. She likes to sing, dance, play guitar, piano. At the moment, she may be in college in Saigon, as she is in her early twenties. She lives with her mom and her older sister and sometimes her brother. They seem to have a new dog as well. I've enjoyed getting to know them during my time as an English Teacher in Vietnam.
Anna's Address: 429/2F Nguyen Kiem: across the street.

Oh no, that's really terrible. Can't they move?

They don't really have enough money to move and Vietnamese government make it almost impossible to move because of laws and because of how much control and corruption there is. I was in Vietnam for 5 years and I saw a lot of problems.

It's really frustrating and disheartening the situations others are in because there's nothing much else that we can do. I hope she and her family will be able to get help.

We help as we talk about it and expose things and pass it along and that is why they shadow ban us and delete us and remove us off social networks, because what we do are and is making a difference in the world.
