I had the chance to go to Voice & Exit in Austin Texas from November 11th to the 13th. This post will include my favorite talks and speakers and a glimpse into what is called the "Blooms Festival".
"Voice & Exit is this generation's conference and festival of the future. We bring together thought leaders, community builders and innovators from diverse backgrounds who share a common goal: to maximize human flourishing.
We live in a world limited by outdated institutions and social models. But as Buckminster Fuller said, "You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
Join a global group of Exiters who aren't f*cking around when it comes to transforming our world. Learn, collaborate, experiment and connect with like-minded people who are ready to criticize by creating."
Favorite Talks
1. The Future Cities Forum.
In the Future Cities Forum we heard about Bitcoin, blockchain, & cryptocurrency. All things I support and was glad to see discussed.
We also heard pitches and status updates on projects like the Seasteading Institute.
" The Future Cities Forum brings together some of the most dynamic people working to establish the protocols, write the laws, and develop the systems that will allow the communities of tomorrow to emerge. "
This will give you a glimse into what was covered:
2. Michael Rice : Future Design: Bio-architecture, Sacred Geometry and Fractal Living Spaces
Michael Rice's talks were very intriguing.
"Michael is considered by many to be the world leader in bioarchitecture, which can be defined as the art and science of designing spaces and building structures which create, support and enhance life and living systems. He has designed over 400 buildings based on these harmonic principles, from meditation huts, to homes and community spaces of every shape and form."
Here people gathered outside to hear Rice talk.
3. Dr. James Hardt: Neurofeedback: Retraining our brains for performance and wellbeing
" Dr. James V. Hardt serves as the President and founder of Biocybernaut Institute, Inc. He holds a B.S. in Physics from Carnegie Institute of Technology, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Carnegie-Mellon University and he has done post-doctoral training in Psychophysiology at the University of California at San Francisco. "
"For over 30 years Dr. Hardt has been studying the electrophysiological basis of spiritual states. He has traveled to India to study advanced Yogis, has studied Zen meditators and Zen masters, and explored Christian prayer and contemplation. He has developed a technology based on electroencephalographic (EEG) measurement and feedback, combined, in a highly optimized methodology, with computerized measures of subjective states, depth interviews, and extensive coaching in forgiveness and non-attachment.
This technology has demonstrated significant effectiveness in healing and transforming core dimensions of personality, reducing stress and anxiety, reversing key aspects of the brain’s aging process, increasing creativity by 50% and boosting IQ by nearly 12 points on average, enhancing peak performance, facilitating conflict resolution, and in expanding spiritual awareness and increasing access to advanced spiritual states."
I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Hardt's talks. He seems to have unique science backed way for healing personalities and helping people be better, starting with the brain.
The Blooms Festival
This is where things got interesting.
The conference was filled with TED type talks until the Blooms Festival, which turned out to be an awesome party with everything imaginable that could amaze you.
"IT'S SMART, SEXY, AND LIFE-CHANGING. IF BURNING MAN AND TED HAD A BABY, IT WOULD BE VOICE & EXIT."
Here is a video of my Snapchat story from the event:
There was acro-yoga!
There was a Google Tilt Brush!
There was music!
& men in stilts!
There were wild dancers!
There was battle meditation!
Now this requires a bit of explaining.
Two people would compete to quiet their minds while a DJ played music and a commentator attempted to distract the participants and stir up the crowd. The two participants wore monitors that detected brain activity. After a few minutes a winner was declared.
There was art! In the making!
& more art!
There was a DJ in VR!
The DJ stood on the stage and danced. The audience could see the VR projection on the screens.
We watched as he dropped the beat in a spaceship flying through the galaxy.
In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed Voice & Exit. I heard about some new projects and ideas and most importantly I met people who are excited to innovate and move boldly into the next evolution of our species. We can leave things in the past like "governments" and central authorities. It is simply wonderful to meet people who already know this truth.
I freaking love meeting anarchists, voluntaryists, and liberty seekers.
Voice & Exit is a great conference to do just that.
This conference was a great warm up for Anarchapulco, "the world’s premier conference for voluntaryist thinkers and activists".
I will be at Anarchapulco and I hope to see you there!
All pictures and video are my own.

Great write-up and pics, Will! :D
V&E was awesome, and I highly recommend it. It's sad we couldn't do SteemFest too, though!
