Education is an efficient tool for society building towards positivity, however education is also an often misunderstood concept. Being educated and being civilized have a very close connection and how does it matter ?

Well one need not have to be a doctoral candidate to be called educated and this is something that we need to understand. Being educated simply means the ability one has gained to appreciate what is right and what is not. Education empowers us with decision making ability and protects us from falling into traps laid out by powerful few.

You may ask me "How is being civilized closely related to being educated?",

Well, being civilized has a lot to do with respecting one's surrounding and respecting people. Being civilized also means you support the right and question the wrong. A civilized society would never accept the idea of wars, nuclear development or hatred. They believe in helping others and creating a difference together.

We may not be able to apply the concept for a larger scale of audience but yes, we can definitely apply this to the lesser few civilized citizens of the world whoa re trying constantly to make the world a better place to live.

Education also has a major role to be played in today's political game changer. We need to elect right people who will be leading us and this can happen only when we are educated. people do not use us just for the mere sake of power. This is root cause of corruption in the world.

Few uneducated folks leading and driving major policies across the world is the main reason for such a vast effect on society in a negative sense.

Lets stay civilize and educate people around us and this is how things change. Do not wait for anyone to change things.

Do you reckon that we will ever achieve education without physical institutions?

I think it's very troubling that the price of education rises year-on-year while the value of information falls to the price of an internet connection.

I can answer this on a personal experience level, If you have willingness to study the way you do it doesn really matter.. a person hungry for knowledge will earn it no matter what :)

I quite agree with you that education is a powerful tool, but not for everyone. I know a lot of people who graduated from 2 or even 3 universities, but cannot find the job of their dream. I mean, that everything depends on the person and his\her wishes. You can have 2 diplomas and be unemployed. Moreover, I think that the country in which you study also influences your future. You know, the level of teaching differs a lot, for instance, in Ukraine and in UK.

again the very point I am trying to make is do not judge education by the job one gets after completing it, instead judge the system by how civilized people come out of it after completion

Anyway, a lot of things depend on your university. Maybe in your country it is not so, but in my country it is very visible)

Education adds great value to you, but knowing right from wrong and doing something about it shows determination and a fighter for the good in this world.

Educational institutions are working towards having a little less class based learning and adding some online while getting classes to be more practical. At least for where I go. Before long there will be some way to upload the knowledge to your mind (maybe 30 or so years) and then you have more time for tests and assignments etc.

It is more of making an individual self reliant and instill the confidence in him to face life head on !!

Is it not obivous, nations like United States, China, Germany are great today because of knowledge which is a very basic form of education. For you to key into development you must use education as your guide.

Thats right, education gives us a right way to think forward and think progressive!!!

Education is what lightens our worlds and opens our eyes.. Be thankful if you are or were able to get good education

Yes million around the world are deprived of this fundamental right, we shoudl be really thankful

Education is the foundation of our society. With no education, human being would not be as we are now. Most of us civilised and kind towards each others.
I don't trust that much in education through schools system but education through parents most definitely. Have a good pleasant life =)

Yes education through immediate surroundings matter a lot in gaining perspective in life... You made a right point...education system as a whole is rigged these days and is just a thriving business with lots of money involved

ok, i like to motivate!!

It is the knowledge that no one can steal from you. The more you learn the more you gain.

Thats right!!! It s not materialistic :)

education is a weapon to conquer...

A very powerful weapon my friend :)

Without education we can't live a better life. @voiceshares you are amzing.

Infact we can make our lives better :)

Being educated doesn't mean appreciation of what is right or wrong nor knowing it. Being educated means you have some kind of knowledge. Just it.

As I understand, you are connecting education with morality. You assume that having knowledge is equal to being a moral person (ethical intellectualism). But there is no reason for such assumption.

Ethics is not like physics or chemistry. There is not objective knowledge about moral or immoral behaviour. Ethics is created by culture and is dependent on culture as well on time. Today we say something is moral, tomorrow we say it is immoral.

Could you elaborate what is right and what is wrong? Can you provide me an objective definition? The one that will never change or is supposed to last forever? Can you provide some proofs, the best explanation that can't be rejected? Do we say something is right because it is in its essence? Or maybe we just feel that something is right and that feeling is based on our previous social experience? I would say it is the latter.

I think that calling NSDAP an evil party is something what most people will not argue with. That's why I make such an assumption.

Philipp Lenard was a german physicist and a Nobel laureate from physics. Martin Heidegger was a german philosopher and is considered one the most important philosophers of the 20th century. Guess what? They both were NSDAP members. They both were also very well educated. In history we can find a lot of similar examples.

Now, let's think about term "civilized". Your definition of civilized is to support the right and question the wrong. Again, what's right and wrong? If I am not civilized, does it mean I am a savage? Or am I who?

I am no sure but I see a little problem. You said that civilized society would never agree on hatred and they believe in helping others. In the next paragraph you mentioned 'lesser few civilized citizens' and 'we may not be able to apply the concept for a larger scale of audience'. Do you mean that those from larger audience are uncivilized? It sounds like civilized people = better people, uncivilized people = worse people and we should not be looking after them. It is not coherent to the theory of civilized person which doesn’t have hatred and help everyone around. Clarify this.

To end this too long comment I want to say that I’ve found your blog quite interesting. It is always nice to see someone trying to empower people in some way.

Have a good day! :)

You have just opened a debate on two very different thought process my friend. Presnting your case is one thing, doing it at the cost of bringing someone else's opinion is another thing.... I enjoyed the comment and few questions you just asked may not be answered through a comment..... I would to write a saperate post taking your questions into consideration
