Voteselling: A curse.. Can it be STOPPED!

A market exists when there is the need for a commodity and two parties both willing to trade the good for a price. It has been identified several times how vote-selling bots are draining the reward pool and that's why whales are taking as many initiatives as they can.

Therefore we can clearly say the demand for vote buying and selling are increasing higher and higher.

So who are these people who are buying these votes? And why are they buying so? The whales are saying so many things and yet they have not identified these two simple and most important questions.

1. It is mostly the minnows who are buying these votes.
2. They are buying so because their posts don't get votes from real whales so this is the only easy option they see to earn some rewards.

Whales might say these minnows are making posts which are just spam but is that so?

Moreover there are many dolphins and whales who would also buy votes so that their posts gets featured as hot and trending. It is very clear there is an invisible war between the whales on taking the trending spot.

The next fact is most of the vote selling are done by bots, and these bots are programmed and funded by several whales joined together.

Now the actions which are being taken won't help. One can't stop these using the flagging option. It will create resentment and cause hatred. So the only option is to tell the person buying the votes is "hey you don't need to buy votes, just create good contents and I will vote for you and will also ask my other friends to check your contents and they will also vote for you"

But is it possible? With so many posts and limited VP it sounds so difficult.

Also when one whale does some curations to few minnows then it also creates a resentment for other minnows that gets left out. But with this we can identity one thing.

It is the responsibility of the whales and dolphins to nurture the minnows and that responsibility was not done properly and that is one of the many reasons why minnows are now buying votes. Moreover when whales are supposed to give delegations for free they are charging a price and this is causing the minnow to depend on self voting to recover the cost.

So, whales should simply stop complaining about vote buying and selling, as well as stop complaining about self-voting and draining the reward pool, this all happened because whales neglected their responsibility of nurturing their minnows and made the minnows have bitter feelings against the whales through downvoting/flags.

A whale who have even once flagged a minnow will forever be hated by that minnow. So the best way to prevent this drainage is by spreading love and gaining the trust of others instead of using force.

But still remains a question of how will the owners of vote selling bots will make their move as they are the ones with huge Steem Powers
