I'm not stupid enough to appoint a master over myself. I have no right to appoint a master over anyone else. If voting changed anything it would be illegal. Stay free govern yourself.
Reps aren't masters, and you can skip that part anyway. You can just vote for the local laws part. Like, should a tax be collected for xyz project, or should pot be legal? If voting did nothing, they wouldn't try so hard to disenfranchise people, kick them off the rolls, hack voting machines, "lose" ballots, etc. They don't have to make it blatantly "illegal" black and white oversimplified; they just have to do all the bullshit they are currently doing and count on people thinking like you to be sure that enough people don't vote for policies corporate and theocratic interests don't want. If you don't think it does anything, then it doesn't hurt, does it? If it's all a scam, then participating does no harm. But if suddenly the States had voter returns like in other places, it would be real hard to fudge those numbers.
I still don't agree with it, because that means that if I want to murder someone I have the right to, and no I don't because that interferes with their rights. But that type of thinking makes murder okay. We need some law and order, but we do have way too many laws, and that is because of the two party duopoly but what is different this election is Libertarians won the right to be on the ballots after the last presidential election and they believe in small government. Will it make a difference if a bunch gets into office I don't know, but I will be damned if I don't try to stop the two party system. Because weather you participate in it or not, if you are caught not following their rules it will not stop them from locking your ass up in prison. Pretty sad since 50% of the prison population are there for using drugs and or selling drugs and 65% of those are marijuana only. So by not participating you are saying you consent to locking up those who use a drug and if any harm is being done it is to oneself and no one else. No victim no crime.
Don't let perfect be the enemy of the good. By not participating, you're not more free, you're simply ensuring that only the people who participate direct anything. The world doesn't change because you sit it out. You can say you don't care about laws but you'll still face consequences from them. If you want the world to be more free, vote for the freest laws.
