Can virtual reality change the world?

Yes. Like absolutely. I am more certain about this than nearly anything I know, which isn't too much I suppose, but nonetheless, the answer is YES. OK, but how and why? Well, first let's understand VR is a massive breakthrough for a new era of tech, much like electricity the telephone, radio, TV and internet were. From there, we must realize that, in agreement with Moore's law, information technology is advancing at an exponential rate, and it is rational to predict VR will be common place in 5 years or less. As common place as smart phones are today.

Once the above is accepted, we can truly consider how. Well - how did the internet change the world? Many ways. How is VR comparable to the internet. EHhhH. Well, it is a little bit of a apples-to-oranges situation, but when we say "The internet changed everything" it can be fairly regarded that "the interconnectivity of 2d - display monitors over a network changed everything" Well that interconnectivity and network is now 25 years evolved, and we are welcoming 3-geometric-dimension computer. Sure we've had 3d, volumetric display, et cetera, kind of, sort of, before now. The difference is evoking a true sense of presence, which is resulting from the advancements in position tracking, microprocessors, and display units.

We still have the question, and i suppose I look to ya'll for your thoughts. How did computers change the world? productivity, communication, information, entertainment, organization, design, and so on. Those industries will again be revolutionized. Isn't it exciting?!!

Yea - true. Soon we'll have three realities: Physical, mental, digital - the dawn of the third will be with the success of vr-browser api maybe https://webvr.info/

The digital will be merged with the mental and humans and machines will be one.

I don't know if I'll be around foe the singularity, at least physically.
