El Salto Ángel se encuentra en el Parque Nacional Canaima, es el resultado de la caída desde el Auyantepuy de uno de los tributarios del río Carrao, es decir, el río Churún. Este nombre (Churún-merú) es la denominación que le dieron los indios a la montaña.
Hoy en día, este fenómeno de la naturaleza, se ha convertido en uno de los mayores atractivos que se pueden encontrar dentro del parque Nacional Canaima.
