In life, it is important to learn how to gain credibility in all we do. If you are a leader, then, it is paramount to show yourself a good leader that lays down good example for his followers. Respect they say is reciprocal. As a leader, U must show respect first, in order to gain your followers respect. Below are few ways of gaining credibility as a leader:
Be Proactive: It is important to take a bold step and do something first. Identify what would be of benefits to your followers and work towards it. Don't wait to be told. A good leader must develop his problem solving skills. Your proactive action earns you credibility from your people and also it earns you respect.
Keep a balance: You must learn to strike a balance between delegating tasks and excessive involvement in things to do. This helps you earn respect for your subjects.
Act Diligently: The best example of acting diligently is you. Do what you have to do, complete projects in time, finish your projects. With this, you will be seen as credible
Keep your promises: This is a sure way of being credible. Breaking agreements destroys confidence and belief in someone. Avoid committing to something you can't achieve.
Control your emotions: Being a leader in an organization, home or community is not an easy task. Learn to stay calm especially in tense situations. Never allow your emotions get the better of you. Learn to control your tempers and emotions.
Following these tips, it is certain you will be credible before the people you lead
