OUR FREEDOM

in wafrica •  7 years ago

We became independent many years ago
Our leaders say we are free
Free from the white men
But still in bondage of ourselves
We're not free in this country
People still expect justice
We have been wronged
Then I asked an old man outside
Where's our freedom?

Democracy! Democracy!! Now we have it
Unfortunately it has made us so crazy
Men and Women are slaves again
Slaves in their own land
The children are confused
They can't understand
The youths are hustling daily
Yet they are called lazy
Please we need freedom
Help me ask the old man outside
Where's our freedom?

Everyday we are been deceived
We are told the nation is progressing
In truth we still hope for that
Our voices are great for singing
Unfortunately not loud enough to be heard
We are a divided people living together
I should ask the old man outside
Where's our freedom?

It's almost time for elections
The wicked politician is suddenly becoming nice
He's calling us to go get our voter's card
He's not that nice
We struggle to register and vote
With much self determination
So we can have our perfect right
Now I'm asking the old man again
Where's our freedom?

We are running out of time
We must vote out of office these thieves
Now is the time to have our voice heard
Now is the time to take back our stolen right
We need to be united to win this battle
A must win battle
We need to have a share of real democracy
Then we will tell the old man outside
Here is our FREEDOM!!! our-freedom-2.png
