It is good and very much better to always attend a competition. Competition makes one especially student to develop speaking skills. Sometimes, it may be in terms of solving mathematical problems which may in turn build such child mathematically.
Many at times, students do shy away from going to competitions which will make them so dull academically. Failure sometimes starts from shyness. It is better for one to be outspoken in other to conquer failure.
We always take our students out for any competition we are invited for. The students do try their best to ensure they come out with the best. In everybody on earth, there exists "best". The best is in you, is in me and is in everyone. So ensure to carve out the best from you.
We are all born into this earth not with two heads but one. So one can always have talent within him/her. The best may be talent to sing, talent to dance, talent to write etc. We are all gifted in different ways. It now depends on how we can easily discover the gift in us.
Many today doesn't have passion for education, but are gifted in different aspect. Either in trading or in learning trades.
My students took part in a competition on Saturday which was organized by ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE INITIATIVE. They where given quiz questions, debate and impromptu speech. They were not fully prepared but we have been giving them questions on debate, impromptu speech and quiz during the morning assembly. These made them to overcome the questions they were given.
They took first in debate, first in quiz and second in impromptu speech. What a brilliant result, what a brilliant performance and what a brilliant outing.
