AN UGLY BACHELOR, PART ONE

Once upon a time, there lived a couple in the village of amucha. They have been married for 25 years and have no children. The couple are Mr and Mrs Ogunkoya. They searched and tried all means to get a child but all to no avail. So on a very sunny day, Ajoke the wife of Mr Alabi Ogunkoya was on her way to the farm when she saw her friends chatting with each other. She went to greet them and they all smiled and had a few conversations before going to their various farms. When Ajoke got to the farm, she gathered fire wood to cook for dinner while Alabi, her husband went to the other farm to harvest yam to cook. She carried the firewood on her head which was very heavy, on her way home, she fell down. Her friend saw her and came to help. They also said that assuming she had a child, it should have been the work of the child. She was sad and tears rolled down her cheeks, her friend, Mama Banji, advised her and her husband to see a herbalist that it can be of great help to the two of them.

When Ajoke went home, she explained everything to her husband and pleaded to him to see the herbalist. Her husband being a soft hearted man easily agreed to her pleading and followed her to the herbalist house. The herbalist from afar saw them coming and quickly arranged all the equipment he will use for them. When they arrived, they greeted him and he answered them and offered them a seat. They told him their problem and he asked his Oracle and told them that they are okey and will give birth to children in no time. After listening to the herbalist they were convinced and decided to rely on what he said.

Meanwhile, the herbalist is interested in Ajoke but don't know how to approach her. So, he called her privately without the concept of Alabi and lied to her that he has a charm to give to her that after using the charm, she must sleep up to four hours before having inter course with her husband. Ajoke was deceived and she thought she has seen solution to her problems. The herbalist took her to his house and told her that her husband Alabi, was impotent that was why they did not have a child but he promised to help her. He blew a whitish powder into her eyes and she fell asleep, the herbalist then had a canal knowledge of her.

When she woke up and realized what she has done, she was yelling at him and promised to tell everyone in the village what he has done. He begged her but she refused then he decided to threaten her. He told her that she will be pregnant and he was going to abort it. She was shocked and confused, she decided not to tell anyone and kept quiet. When she got home, she lied to her husband that she went to greet her aunt in the nearby village. He agreed and had a sexual inter course with her two weeks later that time. She got pregnant and they were very happy. The herbalist was also happy that he was going to have a child. When she gave birth the herbalist came to collect his child from her and she refused to give the baby to him that the child is for Alabi. Then, the herbalist promised to use all his powers to get the child because he was a male child and there is a resemblance between the herbalist and the child.
