Do You Still Remember These African classical Books From Back In The Day?

I loved literature alot right from my childhood days till date even as the culture of reading in Nigeria has totally dwindled, I am a huge lover of books. There are certain books that cant l be left unmentioned especially if you grew up in Nigeria in the 80s and 90s. You must have read them, but if by-chance these books look strange to you, then permit me to say you're too young to be here; I mean don't even border to interfer in adult discussion! Hahahaha!! I read most of these books especially those from classical African Writers Series and Pioneers. Infact going through this list makes me nostalgic because it reminds me of those childhood days where we were all innocent and without a care in the world. Oh how time flies!

These are my all time favourite and ofcourse you're free to talk to me about yours;

The Second Chance by Nyengi Koin. Mina and Richard's unlikely rich girl, poor boy story. A story that put me almost in tears because of the way events of romance played out in the book. Oh wow! Poor Richard! Who remembers how those twins were separated at birth over Mina's father's refusal to all his daughter to be married out to Richard?!!! This book was a good read.

One Week One Trouble, by Okoro Anezi. Hahahaha, Wilson Tagbo the trouble maker! I have never seen someone as mischievous as Tagbo the trouble maker!!!

An African Night's Entertainment by the late Cyprian Ekwensi. This book takes me down memory lane. A story set in Housa Land, which had the main character go on a very long journey of revenge when he lost an ear. I also remember another one written by Cyprian, about one old man struck with spell of mysterious disease. Each time someone mentions Sokugo, the old man loses his senses and starts roaming up and down distant lands. Who remembers ooohhh?! Hahahaha

Without a Silver spoon by Eddie Iroh. You couldn't have schooled in Nigeria and not remember this classical book. Dirt poor boy is sponsored through school by his stingy teacher who he serves as a houseboy. The poor boy was a damn honest boy. Hahahaha. Imagine going to the bush to look for palm kernels to break and eat simply because he wouldn't let hunger push him to steal food. OMG, the part that got me was when the boy's father spat into his hands and asked him to lick it. Yuuucckk!

The Concubine by late Elechi Amadi. Who hasn't read this?!! Hahaha. When I read it the cover was different. Ekwueme died from the injuries he sustained in a fight with Madume. Madume the greedy lecher began 'eyeing' Ihuoma after her husband died. I think Madume later hung himself on a tree after he went blind. The spirit husband came in form of a snake and spat into his eyes, blinding him. He sunk into depression afterwards and then committed suicide. An enthralling story I must say. One of my best classics.

Thanks for your time. Please do tell me the ones you read. Or do these look Strange to you?

Oh wow. Good to know my post made you remember something.

It's usually that way. You know, we hate our teachers who put their best effort to mold us into responsible citizens of the society. In our little innocent minds, they hate us or are simply wasting our time. Back in the day I hated my mathematics teacher the most. To me he was just intentionally punishing us with those various mathematics formulas. Hahaha

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

It is certain
