The Supreme Court of India said, "India will be deployed under debris one day." The highest court on Tuesday commented on this. The court has taken a note to take stringent steps to implement solid waste management in India.
The court said, that day is not far away, when a stack of trash will be made equal to the 73 meter Kutub minarer in Ghazipur area of New Delhi. The court further said, to use the red light of the aircraft to check the hoarding of the pile of the waste.
"We are going through the order," said MP B Lokur and Deepak Gupta, a judge of the bench. But the rules regarding solid waste management are not being implemented. When someone is not trying to implement it, then what is the benefit of the order! One day India will be buried under the trash. '
According to PTI news, the court directed the states and central authorities to make the necessary policy guidelines. The court has asked the court to prepare the policy within three months.
Senior lawyer Colin Gonzalevus was appointed as the Amicus Curie in the court. He said, if the appropriate authorities fail to take desired action in this matter within three to four months, it will be contempt of court. The solid waste management regulations are very broad and Delhi has already started implementing these.
In 2015, the Wright Management Law was passed. This law was enacted across India. A bench of the Supreme Court is hearing a case related to this. In December last year, the court directed the central government to enforce the rules of the Waste Management Act.
The court said that the diseases like Dengue and Chikunguniya spread due to the waste management policies not effective. The court had warned the central government about the matter on February 6. At that time, the court said, 'The garbage collection is not the work of the court.'
