But I actually did have enough time yesterday afternoon to wander in and check out a cool place in Harleysville, Pennsylvania called Hartland Salvage.
About Hartland Salvage: Hartland Salvage has a nice variety of hand-picked, salvaged items that would otherwise become lost and forgotten. I really enjoyed looking at their large selection of old windows, shutters, doors, and many other architectural items from long ago. My wife and I had our eyes on a nice old cedar-lined chest that was in really nice shape! If you ever end up in Harleysville, I recommend stopping by this cool family-run business!
Hartland Salvage, a division of Hartland Demolition is a mother and daughter team working hard to keep pieces from the past and present out of landfills.

You really hit the jackpot for "cool old things to take pictures of." That plate with the watches on it is very creative. It's interesting because no matter what else we're able to put on our "plates" in life, we can't add more time. We have what we have and that's it. It's important to use it well, because when it's gone, it's gone.

Sorry I missed this post within the 7 days! These are such evocative images! I especially like the ones with the glass doorknobs and the croquet set. But really, they are all so nice. There must be so many old things "back East". I would much rather see these things used again than tossed in a dump or melted down.
