Wrecked Rec Room

Some colorful captures of disarray at an old recreation building in Marlboro, New Jersey.

I have no idea what it was used for, but I just had to stop and photograph it in all its abandoned glory!

Like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, I think I actually heard that old pencil sharpener whisper "oil can", or did it say "graphite"?

I'm not really sure.

That is pretty cool, instead of graffiti art , I’d like to see this everywhere .

I don't mind street murals and various urban art if it's done tastefully rather than out of a sense of malicious destruction of property.

You know...... I can imagine something much more disturbing than the wizard of oz based on those pictures. However, I think I prefer your nice picture to the one that I was conjuring up.

Haha, well yeah, I suppose it does have the look of a good setting for a horror movie 😱

You should enter that first one in @kus-knee mundane art contest. It's perfect for that.

I'm going to have to come to New Jersey - you find the coolest stuff.

I really enjoy discovering old, abandoned, and forgotten things to try and photograph. New Jersey does have a nice mix of everything from the grungiest urban landscapes to really beautiful seaside, and also some nice farmland and even rolling hills. Not really any huge mountains in the state though.

I'm going to have to go hunting to find old stuff...maybe I'll have to venture to TO....ugh.

I call this : a pure creativity.
Because who painted this didn't do it for the money.

Nice observation!!!

Looks like where the first modern art glass got it's start.

Agree, we're certainly not looking at renaissance grade artwork here, are we? ;-)

Amazing creativity @cognoscere. Unusual captures you taken. Seems like as a vampire background.

I didn't happen to see any vampires while photographing, but who knows?

Very colorful and creative photography
Thanks

The colors are really wonderful
It became more beautiful then

Thanks!!!

Wonderful creativity..... @cognoscere it morden art .......

You really do find some of the funkiest sites around, that's for sure. A veritable photographic museum of the wild, odd, beautiful, strange and, well, funky. I'm sure there are more adjectives, but I've run out tonight. Highly interesting is the key word, though.

The paint on the walls is very odd, but very organized. I'm thinking the city or whoever is in charge gave the kids paint, a few guidelines of the appropriate, and let them have at it.
We did this as kids in our block-wall basement. Couldn't believe Mom even bought the paint. It was a lot of fun, though not half as involved as this. Probably because it was our house, and we had to live with it ( :
