Michigander fun

I went out with a couple of co-workers today, one of whom is just working here for the summer. She's never been to the area, so it was a great time to play tourist...especially since I haven't seen a lot of the places we visited, either!

Ironically, the one day of the week this lighthouse is closed to the public is Tuesday. A gate prevented us from going anywhere near it, but it was still lovely from afar!

We watched this freighter towing another boat for awhile. The Great Lakes are so massive that you really feel like you're standing on the edge of the ocean.

My friend was the only one of us who was brave enough to set foot in the chilly water. While the other two of us searched for neat rocks on the shore, she looked for some beneath the waves.

After that, we headed to one of the most popular tourist traps in the area. They sell food and drinks and various things that are all flavored cherry, which isn't my bag; but the landscaping was gorgeous. You know me and my flowers!
