Valley of Fire State Park X 2

I came here in February for a day hike and loved it so much I had to go back

This time I had someone to enjoy it with. Enter Zack Collingwood💪 (yes ladies, he's single!!!)

We got here just before nightfall, and were very lucky to get a spot at the campground

It was very quiet and peaceful at night there. Everyone really kept noise to a minimum. The night was warm and the skies were cloud covered. Not many stars could be seen. The wind unleashed its fury during the night for over an hour! I was real surprised the tent stayed intact. You could hear the winds just before they would rush in and jolt the tent around violently.
It became a familiar sound that you knew when you heard it a gust was coming in!

Sunrise 🌞 Time for a hike

The natives were doing their thing. They didnt mind all the people coming around

This one wanted a closer look at me. I decided its best to not mess with the horns, and slowly made my exit

The desert was springing to life

White Domes Trail
You can stick to the main trail, or freelance on your own. We did a little of both. Doesnt seem to matter where you turn, there is always something new around the corner

There's a reason this place is called Valley of Fire. By noon it was 90F and it felt hotter. There was just enough wind to keep it from being uncomfortable. This time of year its nothing really. Come here in August and 110F temps are not unheard of!

Nope! God how I wish!

Whoaaaa!! What an awesome wwm!! Thank you for the desert pretties, they were so gorgeous, the desert always impresses me with its diversity...

Good luck to Zack too! heheee! Get him on STEEM eh?!

Thanks LB!!!! Looking forward to checking out NS and meeting everyone soon!

I think after this trip I convinced Zack to get on Steemit! He keeps putting it off but I keep buggin!

Awesome, I can't wait to have him in the family!!

WOW! AND THEN MORE WOW!!!! Those are the most amazing shots I have seen in a very very long time. This is not terrain that I have seen before. Me with all my woodsy ocean stuff, and my Ontario farming lands. I am so impressed. I can almost feel being there camping along with you. No worries on the boy. Cute, but that would make me a cougar. I have enjoyed your trip right along with you. :)))

Thanks Marion! That trip really set my mind straight. I didnt have cell service for 2 days and didnt care! It does wonders to get away from technology even for a brief time.

I am just as amazed by your pictures of Nova Scotia and Ontario as you are by the desert. Ill be flying in on the 10th. Hopefully I will get to meet you. You live close to Brendan and Lyndsay right?

yes. we are 6K away from each other. We are in Ontario and will be home on the 11th. For a few weeks then we will be coming back here. Yes I love setting my mind straight, which is why I live partially off grid, on the Coast. swoosh ..hee :)))

These are beautiful photos. Looks like it was a great time. I love the desert springing to life. It really looks like a place that wouldbe nice to visit quite often.

Thank You Carey! It was so peaceful. Having a disconnect from technology was needed

It looked peaceful. Being disconnected from technology can be great. We are so connected these days. It is hard to believe that people didn't even have phones at one time. They had that kind of peace all the time.

It is good to chat with you again. Thanks

Always a pleasure. Thanks for your kindness
