Practicing with my glidecam, walking around trying out infrared video on a summer day.

in walkwithme •  6 years ago

Recently I purchased a generic glide cam from amazon, many Dtube creators recommend using a Gimball, Stedicam or Glidecam for doing video while walking. Also just makes for more steady video. They use weights to help balance the camera while moving around. This is achieved using bearings to balance the weights once properly calibrated. I only have about an hours hands on experience with this so bear with me if it looks like its wandering, some times I would need to use my other free hand to correct its movement slightly.

I checked out a few plants and and a mushroom growing on a log in near infrared.

@kevirizal

Thanks for following me, and no problem glad you have you on Steemit.

We had one of those glidecam/balance steadi-cam tings and ended up throwing it in the trash (literally!) and replaced it with a DJI Osmo.. it cost a bit (ok, a LOT) more, but it works 1000x better!

@notarubicon

Im going to give mine a few weeks of testing before I judge it, as I think my hand movement may be wrong and its affecting the video steadiness.

I did notice the bolts cannot be locked down on these generic ones, so things loosen over time which is really annoying.

Very cool, if I cannot get my glidecam working right I may need to save up for a gimball like yours. Thanks for the comment and tip on the product.
