My friend was in a German unit for re enacting. They have regulations such as we can't wear insignias when we go to eat in our uniform. They only time we use them are at public events. In which we try to get as historically accurate as possible. If we catch someone saying Heil Hitler and Doing the salute, They will be kicked out of the unit. Some people play Germans because not everyone can be Allies. And some may want to see the perspective of a German solider and learn.
