Because they went to your wall and there was nothing interesting. Maybe post some quality content and you will get some LOVE too. Also, this is Social Media so just as you have a right to ask questions, others have a right to praise great work. Do you realize how much work it takes to create a video like this? Maybe try to make a video like this and you will realize why he is being patted on the back. In addition he has caused many to think about things that many are not aware of. Instead of being jealous you should be happy to have so many talented people sharing their wisdom FREELY ! As well as have a platform that pays EVERYONE to participate. Does this answer your questions ? Any more questions, feel free to ask.

Are you posting out of the kindness of your heart ? How do you know what is in their hearts ? Have you interacted with any of them or asked them ? Might I suggest adding a profile picture of some sorts. I believe you will have better interactions if you did not have a blank avatar. I hope my suggestions have helped you a bit. One thing you can do is look at each person's acount and check his/her comments and see if they are just leaving the same type of non-content reply on every whale/creator's posts in order to try and fish for upclicks on their praise posts. I agree most of the responses seem to show zero understanding of what the poster either said or what the video was about.

This is a VERY good point jbgarrison72! What a lot of people don't realize is that this is a reputation-based platform. Sure, there may be favoritism going on in some parts, but I've met some very honest, hard-working people on Steemit who really evaluate the content before they post. Gone are the days (hopefully) where someone gets rewarded for saying "what a fantastic post." Substance, thoughtfulness, honesty and patience are king here....or, at least they should be. Peace to you and yours.

so anyways, he's a good content producer for the most part, when I was hovering over pointless youtube videos he stood out, made me interested and laugh out once in a while and introduced me to steem as well :)

and the comments aren't sucking up they are bullshit, just read them :D 70% whatever...

I suppose it comes with popularity or influence or whatnot, people are easily lead after all.
