AntiqueFinder - WW1 Card Sent with the Princess Mary Tin

in war •  6 years ago  (edited)

Here is a wonderful peace of history from the first world war. It's a card that was sent with the Christmas tin to the Royal Scots. There is no date on the card but from the description this was sent out after the war to the solider or next-of-kin.

The card says -

"HEREWITH H.R.H. PRINCESS MARY'S GIFT which was presented at Christmas 1914

As circumstances then prevented this gift being distributed, it is now sent to those show were serving at the time, or to next-of-kin in the cases of individuals who have been called upon to make the supreme sacrifice."

The Princess Mary Christmas tin was given to the soldiers during the war. They contained cigarette, tobacco and much more. I will be doing post on this soon, so keep your eyes open.
