Crazy Painting Challenge Unit #1: Sporemines and Space Marine - finished

It's time for the Crazy Painting Challenge again. I was not quite sure if I want to participate this time, as I have a lot to do for university. But finally I decided to enter the challenge anyway. It was fun and I am highly motivated to paint currently.

First the obligatory "Blabla":

• as last year, the challenge takes place at the Warhammer Store Augsburg.
• entry fee is 3€
• you have to paint at least six (playable) units of miniatures, for every unit you have two weeks
• choice of unit is free - but has to be chosen before the two week period starts
• the miniatures have to be completely unpainted or primed
• the miniatures can be from any Games Workshop System (inlcuding Forgeworld), as long as it is at least one unit
• for every unit you fail to paint you have to pay a 1€ fee
• a unit can be a single miniature (like a character model) or multiple miniatures (e.g. five Space Marines)
• start date was the 19th January 2019

My first unit consists of five Sporemines and an additional single Space Marine from the Space Marine Heroes series. I always wanted to have more Sporemines and a few weeks ago I got hands on 15 of them for quite a cheap price. I decided to do them in batches of five during the challenge as they can be painted fairly quick, which makes them perfect whenever I do not exactly have the time to paint. The Space Marine was not planned, but my boyfriend challenged me with painting yellow plus he forgot his Space Marine at my living place... Well now he has his first Imperial Fist Marine hehe :D It was hard, but also surprisingly rewarding to paint this guy. And one thing I know for sure - I never ever want to paint a whole army like this! There are so much colors that are easier to paint plus Tyranids are my favorites anyway. I just enjoy painting one or two Space Marines now and then for a change. I hope you like him.

Hallo zusammen,

Im Augsburger Games Workshop findet derzeit wieder die Crazy Painting Challenge statt. Nach langem Überlegen habe ich beschlossen erneut daran teilzunehmen. Der Unistress spricht ein wenig dagegen, allerdings hat es das letzte Mal wirklich Spaß gemacht und ich bin mittlerweile wieder sehr motiviert Figuren zu bemalen. Diese Motivation wollte ich nicht ungenutzt lassen.

Kurz eine kleine Beschreibung der Challenge:

• sie findet im Warhammer Augsburg statt
• Teilnahmegebühr sind 3€
• bemalt werden ingesamt mindestens sechs (spielbare) Einheiten, für jede hat man zwei Wochen Zeit
• die Einheiten sind frei wählbar, müssen jedoch vor Bemalbeginn bekanntgegeben werden
• die Miniaturen müssen noch unbemalt bzw. dürfen höchstens grundiert sein
• die Miniaturen müssen von Games Workshop oder Forgeworld sein (kein Fremdhersteller eben)
• für jede innerhalb der zwei Wochen nicht fertig bemalte Einheit muss 1€ Strafe gezahlt werden
• eine Einheit kann sowohl eine einzelne Figur (z.B. Charaktermodel) sein als auch mehrere Figuren umfassen (z.B. 5 Space Marines)
• das ganze hat am 19. Januar angefangen

Als erste Einheit habe ich 5 Sporenminen gewählt, zudem habe ich noch einen einzelnen Spacemarine dazugenommen. Nachdem ich kürzlich günstig an 15 Sporenminen gekomemn bin, wollte ich die Gelegenheit nutzen, diese in 5er Gruppen während der Challenge zu bemalen. Ich finde die Sporenminen optisch sehr hübsch und wollte meiner Hivefleet ohnehin ein paar hinzufügen. Für die Challenge sind die Modelle praktisch, da sie schnell und einfach fertig zu stellen sind.
Der Space Marine war nicht direkt geplant, allerdings hat mein Freund mich mehr oder weniger dazu herausgefordert einen Imperial Fist (sprich Gelb) zu malen. Ich konnte da einfach nicht nein sagen, zumal er einen Space Marine der Space Marine Heroes Serie bei mir liegen hat lassen. Nun ja, Gelb ist eine nicht ganz einfache Farbe, wie sicher so ziemlich jeder Maler bestätigen kann. Für mich war es eine kleine Herausforderung aber gleichzeit auch sehr lohnenswert den Marine zu bemalen. Ich hoffe er gefällt euch!
