The Golden Rule: How We Could Transform the World Right Now

in waronspam •  7 years ago

I was going to write about something completely different, but then I got a spam comment, and I needed to say this. I work hard on this blog. I put my heart into it. I appreciate all upvotes and kind and thoughtful comments. But if you have taken the time to visit my blog, and made the effort to leave a comment (unless you're a bot I guess), why would you bother with spam? It is a total waste of time, and disrespects the person whose blog you left it on. But it also disrespects you the spammer.

We could transform the world right now if everyone lived The Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have done unto you. You don't want to be spammed? Don't spam others. You don't want to be disrespected? Don't disrespect others. You don't want to be cheated. Don't cheat others. Anything you don't want to happen to you, don't do it to others. It is really a very simple rule.

I am starting a list of all spammers and will report you. I will NOT tolerate it on my blog. I am a very loving and understanding person, but I am tired of having my boundaries crossed because I am so loving and understanding. Have a wonderful day!

I think today the net is still perceived as an anonymous place and this makes people do really stupid things. Maybe it's also a bit because we're so bombarded with "spammy" commercials and ads people just start to imitate that.

Not an excuse though. I agree this spammy behavior is a major nuisance.

Yeah, I think the anonymity part gives people the idea that they can behave badly. But honestly, people treat others less than to their faces as well. I will still follow The Golden Rule and constantly pray for humanity. Thank you for your real and thoughtful comment.

Just take that spammer's name or post to steemit.chat and drop it in @steemcleaners link there where they can take care of them for you!

Thank you. I will do that!
