During my time on steemit, I have seen A LOT of spam that has just gotten under my skin. This SPAM I found today just makes me want to VOMIT......
I recently lost my dear friend Laura Lemons. I made a loving tribute post to her. The Steemit community lost her too. She was well known here. I made it VERY clear in the post and comments that I plan to donate some of the proceeds to an organization that helps those with mental illness:
My friend @mister-d pointed out to me today that someone was spamming the post. So, I checked it out. Sure as can be, we have a clear case of a spammer trying to capitalize off my deceased friend. In my post I made it clear my relationship with Laura. @asmaasema clearly did not know her, especially considering they've only been on steemit since August. This individual pulls a drawing from Laura last post calling it her "last portrait." When in fact it was one of her older pieces!!

There is a lot of begging for resteems. I made my post because I loved Laura and had a personal relationship with her for about 18 months. Laura was a great friend of mine and this news has been devastaring, to say the least. Laura was not fortunate enough to get quality healthcare soon enough. So I made it clear, I WILL BE DONATING. And I will provide proof too. Both made clear in my post, full of also proof that I knew and loved Laura.
You're not fooling me or anyone else @asmaasema. Trying to capitalize off a deceased individual you DID NOT KNOW is not what steemit is all about. Dropping 12 comments in my post begging for resteems on your inaccurate post about Laura is about as low as it gets.
I'm just so upset someone would try to actually capitalize off this. The words coming to mind right now would kill the "professionality" of this post. So I am going to leave this in the hands of the steemit community with special thanks to @mister-d for pointing this out to me.
This is terrible. I can't imagine how this makes those that were close to
Laura feel. I'm very sorry for your loss, and I can only hope that the person who spammed your post does not have to lose somebody of their own to realize how awful what they did is.

I appreciate you can understand this. Communities are literally formed by either allowing garbage like this, turning a bind eye, or taking action. We must the action. This behavior is not cool.

His post needs buried. It is inaccurate. He's trying to capitlize of someone he didn't know. I've seen several tribute posts ranging from people who knew her much longer than me, to one who had recently struck up a friendship with her. @stellabelle would be interestrd in your thoughts on this bs

I interacted with Laura through some post comments. I almost threw up when I found out about her demise. It was odd that although I did not really know her, it made me sad even to this day.
It is sadder to see vultures flying all over. I just hope she found peace in wherever we go from here.

I think she is in peace. She was part of steemits foundation. I am glad to be part of this community that will honor Laura's memory:
A) approppriately without hope for recompense
B) lift her up on the pedastal she deserves for everything she did to try and help others through her art

@chelsea88 Thank you so much for leading the charge to stomp out this blatant abuse. I was initially shocked that someone would stoop so low. I reached out to you to confirm I was interpreting the turd I shall not name correctly.
He's absolutely the lowest form of human life to try to take advantage of tragedy for personal gain.

Just wanted to stop on by to show my support during what must be such an absolutely awful time (Urgh - I rewrote that three times and it still just sounds like a stupid thing for me to say to you, please forgive me)
I just wanted to say that life does get a little easier after a devastation like this, in time. Please don't rush yourself to heal mentally, that can't be rushed and you don't need the pressure on yourself to do that.
