Waterfront Tavern in Gig Harbor, WA

Here's a local tavern on the water where I live in Gig Harbor, WA. It's always busy, since it's a favorite spot among the locals. Many people will actually take their boat down from Seattle and dock here just to eat.

It was built in 1910 as the local general store. The dock next to it served as a ferry landing (we no longer have ferries coming in and out of the harbor). At the time it was known as the West Side Mercantile. After prohibition, they added a tavern inside. In 1974, it was purchased by Peter Stanley (associated with Stanley Tools) and renamed it The Tides Tavern.

Personally, my favorite items on the menu are the Tides Pizza and the Maui Burger. If you're in the area, definitely check it out!
