Waves a currency and also a DEX similar to Bitshares is a well know currency that's lately been rising. Waves back in June 2016 was about $1.33 USD. After which it gradually declined to $0.17 USD. That's like a little above the current prices of BTS. The reasons could have been many, but the fact is that it was not all that popular back then. Today the value of waves is at $5.2 And if you had to buy $5.2 worth of waves when it was $0.17 it'd be about 30.588 Waves and the value would be $159. Ain't that impressive.
Waves is not new to the market, it has been here for over a year and as things go, slow and steady wins the race. Who'd think waves would be so high in value when in dropped below the initial price. Just like no one though Bitcoin would be $4400+. The world of crypto sure is uncertain and very much Unpredictable.
Waves has a current circulating supply of 100 Million Waves. And it's market capitalization is $519,681,000, that is about 114,797 BTC. And over the 24 Hours, it's trade volume so far is $7,319,190 about 1,617 BTC.

Waves also has a wonderful community and also has it's own Exchange, similar to Bitshares. It's bit hard to understand and can sometimes be difficult for a normal user to use it for day to day trades. There are quite a lot of tokens listed on the waves platform. And some are high in value too. Click Here the link here shows all the tokens listed within the Waves DEX. The volume trade on Waves is quiet ok.
You can Access their exchange by going to https://waveswallet.io/.

It does look quiet a bit difficult to understand at first, but as you browse through you will find it easier to use it.
What all can you do within Waves Dex.
The waves wallet offers you a lot of features.. From buying an asset to creating an asset to leasing out your waves to someone for a particular period of time. (Like a contract).
1. Waves Exchange:
- The exchange is quiet twist and trading here can be a little troublesome. Sometimes you may not know which token you are dealing with. Basically, it's UI is not well off. You may not find the right price of may buy something for more and you may not know what that was.
I recently bought a token there, and now when i want to sell em back, i'm not getting the right price for it. So now am not able to sell, but stuck there till someone fill my order which is hard.
2. Create an Asset:
- You can create an asset there in under 1 minute. And it's very very simple and cheaper then Bitshares. It'll cost you 1 waves to create a token there. So you can keep creating assets there. Ofcourse they need to be of some value right.
- You can also lease out some of your tokens to some other user
You can only transfer or trade Waves that aren’t leased. The leased amount cannot be transferred or traded by you or anyone else.
You can cancel a leasing transaction as soon as it appears in the blockchain which usually occurs in a minute or less.
To cancel a lease, click on the black button in the far right column of the Leasing Transactions table below and select Cancel Leasing.
The generating balance will be updated after 1000 blocks.
The exchange uses the waves as most of the pair between the token. So this increases the usage of the token and thus creating the value. Also the supply makes the prices what it is.
If BTS has a supply of 100 Million the value of the token would have been over $10. Because it's more simpler.

Keep sharing the great content, Mike. I may have to pick some up myself.

waves: centralized order matching allowing front running and ddos
waves: no margin trading, no trustless fiat stable currencies, <1000 tx/sec, only official gateway options, low volume, centralized funding via ICO in hands of centralized company - good luck replacing malicious devs
bitshares: margin trading, trustless fiat stable currencies, 100,000 tx/sec, many gateway and bridge options, highest volume dex in existence, no ICO, funded via the first ever and successfully operational DAO that funds several decentralized teams for development
It's not even close.

Why would people buy something that's already been realised when they can buy Bitshares that is about to go for global adoption and around $0.13?

Bitshares has been here since 2013 and works. And is way more undervalued.
