'The Prisoner'

crta.png

This hole in the ground with iron bars was a place to imprison people back in the medieval times. It was probably cold and damp in that place, so prisoners seldom lasted long. Interesting how people back then were so reluctant to help ease the misery of another. Reading the books and reading the real stories, of course, not the ones romanticized by authors, it seems that many enjoyed the sufferings of fellow human being. Or, is it only our imagination of how things were? Thought to tell without recorded proofs. Well back then there was no cameras, recording devices. There are only scarce written words. And, word on a paper is just one man's opinion.

Enjoy your day! :)

Your images capture that suffering, martyrdom, hopelessness, @velimir. Not only literature attests to the great evils of history, but also photography or sculpture. The wax images are so real that we can perceive the punishment and sorrow of man. Excellent photographs. Greetings

These photographs disturbed me, they convey in such a real way the suffering and pain of that prisoner. The saddest thing is that in the 21st century there are still places where torture is practiced and human rights are flagrantly violated. It changed my mood after seeing these images, @velimir.

@velimir, When we read some of the terrorising facts of the the past then that really shakes us because for sure in old days there were no effective Technology and news system and in my opinion these kind of situations are really Unimaginable. And that's why whenever we see movies to understand some reality then that really shocks because we see unimaginative aspects. And we all know that past holds more stories than present.

Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂

I think people are now civilised in modern times with few exceptions.
In olden times there is not much of humanity and possibly people used to get pleasure by torturing others. Sadistic, I can’t think a better word.
