I'm seeing interesting trends. Some of the best and most experienced writers, who have an edge on Steem by being first, are receiving less rewards on average than before. But those who previously succeeded somewhat randomly and taking a hit in earnings. There is more competition. Some are using previous popularity to gain momentum. Some new writers are becoming popular and taking over earnings. Many new users are simply failing to earn much despite good articles and increased networking.
Steemit is becoming full of weary experts while many minnows seem to be leaving. Many are continuing to fail to earn much. I'm personally earning little and have transitioned to quietly publishing useful ideas. My advice is to use Steem to publish meaningful content, have fun, or influence others. Eventually you may be rewarded for caring.
The rich versus poor dilemma of our world seems to be holding true, but not completely. My gut instinct and calculations tell me that it's comparitively easier to make it on Steem than on earth. Remember the richest Steemians make a few thousand Steem a day, while some on earth make millions a day.
My conclusion is that this experiement is moving forward remarkably well. There are issues between rich and poor just like on earth. Perhaps now you know how it feels to be poor. Despite this I'd rather live on Steem than on Earth. It's a fairer world.
Steemit is finding its way. A lot will be learned (and indeed already has been learned) during the beta phase. The get-rich-quick crowd comes in and leaves just as quickly. We shouldn't be concerned with those who have short term motives.
I do wonder if upvote worth should rise by things other than mainly how much Steem Power you have. Those with practically no money invested should still be able to give at least $0.01 when they like a post (Reputation should have a higher weight in the calculation). I imagine it is discouraging to the vast majority of Steemit users who often upvote only to see $0.00.. reminding them their contribution doesn't even register.

Yeah, fun is important. Also I believe Steem can help promote good ideas.

I'm as surprised as anyone by this conclusion that Steem is more fair than Earth, but it only shows how much more effort our real world needs and deserves.

this could be the equality every minnows are expecting, and this is good for everyone :)

Well it's not very equal but it is kind of realistic. Our main hope is to start making a difference and eventually be rewarded for that difference. For example I want to create a better bitcoin called koin, that keeps a level value. By posting here I'm making friends who may begin to believe in this vision.
