Wealth is often distributed unequally. A majority of the population is bound to have some level of economic crisis throughout their lives.
1% of the households are currently owning around 43% of the global wealth. If that doesn't scream inequality I don't know what does.
But, is equality the answer to this issue?
Even the richest will have enough resources to support themselves. So, it might be a better way to distribute wealth in an equitable way. Although this idea is very idealistic, it is possible to bridge the extreme gap between the wealthiest and poorest of our world. In an ideal world, everyone, or at least most people will have easy access to education, healthcare, and eventually enough jobs to go around. This can ensure most citizens will receive the opportunities in order to progress their financial situation despite their current circumstances.
Taxing the wealthier or higher-income community may potentially help the lower-income groups as long as the wealth is distributed fairly. Redistributing the wealth in the world itself can bring about major changes. Along with that, unemployment benefits and disability benefits will improve the disadvantaged groups in the long run.
