Chinook Arch

in weather •  7 years ago

Sky365 029.jpgThe "Chinook Arch" is an arch that we can see on the horizon in the sky over the Rocky Mountains in Alberta Canada. It is a weather phenomenon that means we will have 3 days of warm weather in the winter time! We can go from -30 degrees Celcius one day, then up to plus 20 degrees Celcius the next day due to the warm winds coming over top of the Rocky Mountains!

Sky365 031.jpgIn the summer, a Chinook wind means 3 days of pleasant weather with a slight cool breeze. In winter, Chinook wind means 3 day of warm weather, a nice break from our very cold winter weather!

Wow, amazing...! A great place

Love Chinooks! They make the weather warm and good but make you feel crazy from air pressure drop sometimes.

Very informative.
