Video of Effects From Hurricane Jose on the Jersey Shore

in weather •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hurricane Jose is supposed to move to the East and leave the NYC metro area unscathed, yet the effects can still be felt along the coastline. Above is video I filmed about 45 minutes ago, while walking my dogs.

We were hit by one gust that had to be near 40mph, it pushed me off balance for a second. I'm still waiting for Jose to turn East, but that has yet to happen. Hopefully weather.gov's modeling is correct, because nobody in my area is prepared for another Sandy!

You can see a berm in the middle of the beach where the city workers built a sand wall to protect against coastal flooding and to protect some of the sand from being eroded into the sea.

Jose is really weak tea compared to the devastation of Irma or Maria, but I'm not willing to let my guard down until he goes hard right.

Thanks for reading.

it must be really scary to live in place that can be attacked by hurricane... or did you get use to it?

It's a bit nerve racking when there is indecision about a storm's path, but at the same time, NJ cannot get hurricanes stronger than Category 1, it's too far north.

i see, let's hope for the best

Really this year to forget about the Americans strong spills and destruction
We hope the damage will not be strong
