After a frigid last week, Long Island is feeling a little like spring today.
Our warm-up is a little ahead of schedule. Temperatures today expected in the low 40s have already overachieved with some spots already getting into the upper 40s. We can expect 50s on Monday and Tuesday. Some spots inland away from the chilly Atlantic waters will likely hit the 60s. Dry weather is expected for today and tomorrow, with the sun helping to reinforce the milder air. On Tuesday morning, a weak front will come through bringing with it some showers, but skies are expected to partially clearly by the afternoon. Temperatures will turn a little cooler on Wednesday and Thursday, but will still be above average. Another system moves in on Wednesday night, which could bring some brief frozen precipitation before a change to all rain. We will talk about that more tomorrow. Enjoy the Super Bowl! --Geoff
