Started snowing as expected around 2:30AM and continued up until the daybreak. I say it every time, and I will say it again, I love snow! At least right now I do when food isn't scarce and the house is still heated. Phew!

Welp, got to get out and shovel some more snow. It s a workout, and I am one tired fellow after last nights shift.

I love the snow and Wintertime, but am grateful to experience the full swing of seasons.

If only the jet stream and polar vortex would settle down and stay calm in a steady stream over the continent. Another bigger snowstorm expected to impact my locale again on Monday for even more than today. And even before that a weird weather event on Saturday will sweep thru in a hurry bringing warmer temps and rain?! Settle down sally. Sheesh.

It is being researched and theorized that the weakening magnetosphere in tandem with a more quiet Sun, magnetically, allows for the Solar wind to twist and contort the polar vortex and push the jet stream into whacky snake-like positioning where these strange weather storms can occur.

Hope to see you soon, warm weather and pleasant Sunshine!

Great post and shots!

Very interesting, @biffybirdcam.

We got snow twice this week (with a day in between). I'd like to say it's a rarity for late February, but if we get any, it's more apt to happen like the week of Thanksgiving or even later. We've had snow in March within the last five years, which previously, was unheard of.

So, whatever's happening up there is warping some weather patterns for sure.

I really like all of your photos, too. I need to get me a drone one of these days. :)

May I ask where you are located? We have also had some very late season snow events that immediately melt from warm spring temps. Always curious to know.

I live in Oregon in the Willamette Valley, so south of Portland. Elevation is below 250 feet, so we're one of the last places to get anything when conditions are right. I understand that some places in the Cascades got over 50 inches, way more than we did with our less than one inch each time. :)

Talk about living on the edge. But all the fresh mountain water each spring, wow!

Careful living so close to that river! I’m up at about 670ft Above sea level. Still a stream is nearby and have seen flooding close by our house.

We're up on a nice rise, and far enough away from the two main river tributaries that we don't get flooding in our immediate vicinity. It just makes getting around troublesome when it does flood. A major one hasn't happened since 1998. We may be about due. :)

Beautiful photographs btw :) You must be a pilot or fly a drone!

Which technically is both! I aspire to become a real pilot eventually in my life. Could be way way down the road.

Somehow your overhead shots make snow look very enticing, but I remember the shoveling more that the pretty views. Your shots with water are gorgeous. You really have a good talent with your biffybirdcam.

I hope you get warm days soon. I am melting in Kuala Lumpur now. We are in a heat wave that will not quit.
