Homemade Wedding Gown

in wedding •  7 years ago  (edited)

Today I have Brittany + Pablo to introduce you to! What I would really love to share about this wedding is the bride's dress.

Brittany's dress is made in it's entirety from pieces of her mother and grandmother's wedding gowns! I've seen many brides take a small embellishment from a loved one's gown, usually to add it to their already complete, latest release bridal gown. While I still find this meaningful, Brittany blew me away with her commitment to construct a gown entirely from these special weddings past. Annnnd she decided to do it 6 weeks before her wedding. Most brides pick up their completed gown 6 months before the wedding!

I personally believe in dreams and visions, and Brittany does too. She said she had the vision for this design before even becoming engaged. She sketched it in her journal and didn't revisit it for months later.

When the dancing picked up later in the evening, the train was completely removed created a tea length gown, just like her grandma.

Goods of wedding,,

Hopefully always happy

Great work! Awesome light for these :)

I just loved the idea of it, recreating a gown from the previous generation. Since I’m also getting married this November, I am planning to preserve my gown and pass it on to my future daughter and grand daughter. :)

Vacuum seal is good to go, to make it free from dirt at least and conserve space in the closet. :)

Yes I've heard the vacuum seal is good! I've also heard you can get a great deal on it if you buy it when you buy your dress! Have you heard of the bouquet preservation? I had a bride do it and i was skeptical but when I saw it finished I couldn't believe it. It was in one of those Beauty and the Beast- like glass things and it looked alive!

Her skin tone is so perfect! It doesn't look edited - you did a beautiful job.
I love their backstory and they make such a sweet couple, don't they. Their kiss....it's real.

Loved this.

Thank you Country Girl! That means a lot about the skin...I hate it when skin looks edited. They were a great couple! I went to their rehearsal dinner and they invited me to eat with them like I was a part of the family.
