WALK DOWN BY the CREEK #wednesdaywalk

in wednesdaywalk •  6 years ago

Over at Southaven County Park there is a small creek that flows into the Carmans River. Good time to check it out before all the bugs come out.

An old chain-link fence with an inviting open gate appears. Skunk Cabbage is just starting to burst out of the ground which indicate water is nearby.

It's a very small creek trickling over to the river.

A Dogwood tree in the middle of the creek, just starting to bloom. Getting a head start on all the other Dogwoods it seems.

Retracing my steps I go back to the road where it meets the creek.

Dam there is enough cabbage there to last me a good while @manorvillemike

I would't want to ea=t eat this stuff.

Pretty and very peaceful looking spot; I can well imagine that still water will soon become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

=^..^=

This water is moving, but you are right, there are pockets of still water and bogs. Great place for a mosquito day-care center. :-)

Looks like a greta spot for a walk especially with the green sand blossoms coming out and as you say before the bugs come in force,

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk !tip

Thanks for taking the walk with me, Jay.... :-)

It was my pleasure ;)

Nature is wonderful !

Sure is :-)

Perfect day for a walk it seems. Spring has so much 'newness' to offer. It is a fine time for a walk.

Thanks for sharing the sunny day and nature's spring awakening!

Thanks @nana-nini Good time for everyone to get out and explore....:-)
