Ha! 15 years ago I belonged to an online book group that included a lot of youngsters and they used all sorts of abbreviations. It seems like they have been part of my vocabulary now for ever, and I forget that other people might not know what those letters stand for!
Those squirrels and chipmunks cause me a lot of laughs.

The same for me often the way it fits into a sentence makes it clear other times not so much so
My wife’s d.i.l used to use so many of them and confusing us so I started making up abbreviations in replies or just throw random letters out there in replies funnily enough now she only uses the well known ones with us 😂

I was just looking at my hydrangeas today thinking "they don't attract very many insects." Must go by variety. What variety are those, do you know?

I think these are Peegee hydrangea or Panicle hydrangea. I have a snowball type also, and you are right, those don't attract many insects.
Funny that wire worm might be stoned. I have never heard of opium lettuce! I was thinking that it might be nipplewort, but that was just a guess. One of my neighbors has had a wire worm infestation and has had them inside her house and piles of them on her porch and driveway. And like she always does she called an exterminator. 😢And I wonder why I never see insects like I used to.
